Dec’s new teeth

We are raising money for my friend and fellow farrier Declan Emmerson. Back in March, Dec suffered a horrendous accident whilst at work, where he was kicked in the face by a horse.

The accident resulted in numerous fractures to his skull and jaw as well as several fractured teeth. He was in hospital for  5 days whilst they stitched him up and monitored his concussion. 

Fortunately, he has recovered well however he is still suffering from pain due to his moved and broken teeth.
The dental work which is required will cost thousands of pounds and although he has reached out to the appropriate charities for farriers who suffer injury at work, he has not been able to get the help he needs.

We have therefore decided to run a 24 hour shoe making session in the forge on the 12th of December, where Dec, Grant and I will make horse shoes continuously for a whole day and night to raise money, so he can finally get the essential dental work he needs to restore his full set of teeth!

This challenge will be both physically and mentally demanding so we will appreciate all the support we can get! 

Any contributions would be much appreciated, no matter how big or small, as this has been a scary time for Dec and his family and we want to try and restore those good looks some might say he once had!

Any extra money raised will be donated to charities in support of the NHS.
