Mum's mesothelioma fight
Don protégé
My name is Thomas Vearing and my mum (Deb Vearing) was diagnosed with stage four Mesothelioma in July 2015. Mesothelioma is an incurable cancer caused by exposure to asbestos, which affects the lining of the lungs and also abdomen.
In mums case due to having the cancer in both pleura and peritoneum (lung and abdomen) it was not recommended she have both surgery’s as each were major and would cause too much stress on her immune system. It would also mean major surgery with a recovery time of 6 months per surgery.
With such a diagnosis this would not have been feasible due to the average mortality time frame being in the 4-9 month region. Chemo and radiation has thus far not been advisable with such diagnosis.
It has now been 9 months and mum has been fighting without relent and is not going to let it bowl her over that easily. Mum has chosen to go down the path of 100% natural and organic forms of treatment, Vitamin injections twice weekly, all organic foods and strict diet, an assortment of natural medicines, enzymes and tonics. The cost of such is extremely expensive and has taken a toll on her financially.
Compensation for this cancer is available however mum has been waiting for 8 months for her lawyers to finalise her claim and receive these much-needed funds to continue her fight. This is why I am reaching out to anyone who has the ability to help my beautiful mum.
My mum is such a beautiful, caring, compassionate woman who has always been one of those people who would do anything for anyone, one of those save the world types. She has been there for my family and I when we needed her most. All I want to do is to be there for her. I know money cannot fix the cancer but it would help my mum continue to fight this horrid cancer.
I want my mum to be at my wedding and to have more time with her grandchildren, family and friends. I wish there was more that I can do but right now this is all that I can do.
All I ask for you to donate what you can to give mum MORE TIME and a fighting chance. We are extremely thankful for any form of help. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
