Cancer has affected his life, but not his spirit. Debraj Sen believes with a little help from friends, family and others around the world, he has a fair shot of moving past to brighter days of his life.
Debraj Sen is a 20-year-old bright, smart and vibrant young man. He lives with his family in Bolpur in the state of West Bengal in India. Debraj is a believer and he thinks God has a greater plan through this challenging time he is enduring. Its his faith in Him, that is helping persevere through this very difficult time, and he is standing strong.
Debraj's blood cancer (Hodgkin's Lymphoma) was detected on September 17, 2015. He immediately underwent treatment at Tata Memorial Center in Bombay, and after a few months of treatment, he was able to resume a healthy lifestyle and started attending a college in Bolpur. However, recent developments point to the fact that the disease is persistent. His oncologist is very optimistic, and recommends procedures including bone marrow transplant.
At the moment, Debraj is going through the procedure at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre in New Delhi. He is weak, but knows he has well-wishers who have his back and want to see him up and about continuing with his daily routine.
Along with Debraj, his family is also being tested. The family has given all they have, and is much in need of support. The medical bills are astounding. The immediate need is Rs. 30,00,000 (US$ 42,900.)
Some support in the form of donations has been received through Milaap.org which is a prominent fund raising website for social causes popular in India. To-date (Nov 12, 2018) about Rs. 2,96,990 which is about US$ 4,200 has been raised. See link to the page, included below.

There is quite a gap between funds needed and raised so far. Through this gofundme.com campaign, the goal is to raise remaining US$ 38,700. A modest amount really for a promising young life.
