Help Debbie Get Teeth & Keep Smiling

Donation protected

Dear Friends, the first phase of dental work has been done (4 teeth removed and full mouth gum surgery) and the next phase involves bone grafts and dental implants.  In exchange for your support to help me pay for this, I am offering to work and share my gifts with you.

The first phase cost $8,500 and I could not have done it without your help!  Without going into boring details, I lost my life savings from a bankruptcy in 2009 and was turned down for unsecured loans for the dental work.  I work by commission only as a  Massage Therapist and in general, the spa industry fluctuates.  Insurance will not cover it.  Baylor Dental School declined me as a patient because they said my case was too complicated.  I was stuck between a rock and a hard spot. Your support has been my saving grace!

Background story of my dental saga:  I recently found out that I have extensive bone loss in my jaws on both sides due to advanced Periodontal Disease deep under the gums and into the tooth root and bone. I was told that this problem has been developing for thirty years.  Only teeth removal, extensive gum surgery, bone grafts, and teeth restoration (dental implants) is the treatment for this.

You may be asking yourself, how did you get to this point and not know there was a serious problem? Well, I've been asking myself the same question. I have brushed my teeth 2-3 times a day, every day, for my entire life.  I have used only the best toothpaste and mouthwash from Whole Foods for many years.  I missed some of the signs (mainly a receding gumline), and I didn't have other significant other signs that alerted me to a serious problem. My regular dentist that I have gone to since I was a child did not mention that I may have problems either and he never recommended I visit a Periodontist till a tooth became so loose that it fell out while brushing my teeth one day.

Here is what The Canadian Dental Association says:

"Gum disease is one of the most common dental problems adults face, but gum disease can begin at just about any age. Gum disease often develops slowly and without causing any pain. Sometimes you may not notice any signs until the disease is serious and you are in danger of losing teeth."

After seeing four Periodontists, I chose Dr. Brock Lynn for several reasons.  The primary reason is because he uses a special laser for gum surgery called LANAP.  (www.lynndentalcare.com)

Gum surgery with LANAP has many advantages over regular gum surgery. LANAP is more effective in the treatment of gum disease. It stimulates bone growth, is less invasive on the gums, has a faster healing time, and is less expensive than traditional gum surgery. This seems to be the best option for me long-term.

I had the LANAP surgery and 4 teeth removed on Janaury 22, 2014.

I am asking for your help to pay for the next phase of dental care which includes bone grafts and dental implants.

Here's how you can help me:

1) Make a Donation(s). I'm offering some cool things in exchange for your donations.

2) Share my GoFundMe link with your Facebook Friends and email list, along with a personal comment. Keep sharing it every 2 or 3 days.

3) Send me encouraging words and ideas to raise money.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
