Debbie Becker’s house

My mom, Debbie Becker, had her house catch fire last night. You probably saw it on the news. Or, if you’re in St. Peters, you certainly saw the flames. It was a 2 alarm fire started at her neighbor’s condo.
Those of you who are close to us know about her neighbor. There has been suspicious activity going on there for years. She is such a kind person that she never wanted to start trouble. I am not so kind! While my family and I were staying with her between moves, I called the police several times. There was a constant steam of random people walking through my moms backyard, banging on doors and yelling all day and night, and several cars parked all around (and in) my moms yard.
I was was very afraid something like this would happen. I am so grateful that my mom and her dog, Sophie, were able to get out safely. I am also very grateful that my children were not there at the time of the fire. They are extremely close with my mom (Mimi) and even have their own bedroom. Their room received the most damage.
My mom could certainly use some help getting back on her feet. She was informed today that it will not be safe to return to her home for several months.
