On September 11th we got the unimaginable news that Debbi's home had completely flooded during Hurricane Irma. Every square inch of her beautiful home that holds so many memories for so many people had been devastated by the rising rain waters. The 20 inches of rain in the Ft. Pierce area took a major toll and we are trying to put her home back together. We need your help as she did not have flood insurance and FEMA will not be able to cover all the costs. I know many of you have reached out and want to help so if you can please make a donation to help our Mom! Debbi who is an amazing mom, grandmother, sister, and friend needs our support to get through this tough time.
Update 9/15/2017: We are beyond grateful for all the love you are showing our beloved Debbi! As many of you know she hates for any fuss to be made over her and would rather give than receive. She has expressed to me so much gratitude for all of your generous and overwhelming donations! You all have touched her soul! To update you on the process that you are helping with: We currently have a restoration company working with us to cut out all the wet drywall, baseboards, trim, cabinets, and flooring. It will then take 2-3 weeks for the wall cavities to dry out before we can begin to put it all back together. The first phase alone is $7,500 please know that your donations are going to a most deserving woman that would give you the shirt off her back if you were in need! We love you all for taking the time to support our sweet Debbi aka Debbidoo, Mommo, and Gam Gam
Update 9/20/17
All the wet drywall, insulation, carpets, baseboards, trim, and wet flooring have been removed and the wall cavities have been dried out over the last week.
As of today we will be beginning the restoration process!
Schlitt Brothers Painting Inc. and Offutt, Barton, and Schlitt have donated 100 hours of labor to help us put the pieces back together! If you are looking for a great Painter or Accountant these guys are the best and are like family to the McCain's. We can't thank everyone enough for all the donations. Your contributions will be going directly to buying all the materials/labor to make Debbi's home whole again. Debbi is staying with friends during this lengthy process and is so thankful for the outpouring of love you all have given her. We feel so blessed to have every one of you in our lives. We have met and exceeded our goal so quickly! The amount of money it takes to put a house back together after a flood is astronomical but with all of your help it has taken a huge weight off of the family. If you haven't contributed yet and still want to please do so as this process will be well over our original goal.
