Death of hard drive

Hello there...
So today the worst has happened. My external hard drive has suddenly corrupted without any reasoning behind it. It has all my course work on it, and my deadlines are on the 30th of this month. So in 6 days. If I wasn't stressed before, I am now!
I am currently in 3rd year studying computer arts, so everything I make is on a computer... Including some models and animations.
I visited a computer repair shop after my mental break down, and it's going to cost £30 for them to recover and save the files, and another £40 for a new hard drive to put the files on. As I'm a student and don't have a large income, £70 is a lot of money to me. And I can't afford to spend it all so suddenly.
This may seem like a small amount to be raising for, but it's getting taken out of my rent money and I currently can't extend my overdraft and will be cutting it close to the edge when I pay my rent on the 1st. So every penny counts right now. And I would appreciate small donations like 50p because anything at the moment will help.
Please help me pass my course and save my coursework that I've been working on everyday for the past 3 months
