Dean's Cancer Treatment

Dean was sadly diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer, adrenal cortisol carcinoma in July 2016.

Dean was discovered to have small tumour on his adrenal gland which was promptly removed by surgery and put on a 5 year chemotherapy treatment plan using daily drug called Mitotain. The doctors hoped that should he get through the next 12 months without recurrance that this would be a strong sign that the cancer was at bay.

Unfortunately, at 11 months, another tumour was discovered on his abdoman and further intestigation also found another small tumour and metatasise to his liver.

Dean's cancer is rare and therefore little is known about the best way to treat it.  Dean has already begun an intensive four day cycle, receiving a cocktail of severe chemotherapy with a view to receiving a further five cycles over the next five months.   

Dean's partner and family are seeking any and all medical alternatives and additions to chemotherapy to give Dean the best chance to beat this terminal diagnosis and are looking to fundraise to make the most of any potential treatments which will give him a fighting chance.  To date these alternatives treatments are costly, but all treatments are being considered.  Any donation, no matter what the amount will give Dean and Karen a chance to consider all options financially and therefore fight this from every angle. 


Dean will marry his life long partner Karen of 33 years in September, and any contributions and donations to the cause would be gratefully accepted as gifts towards their life together.
