Deaf Artists & Interpretation Fund

Dear Community,

We've seen fundraisers happening online to cover funds  for artists. Thus far, we haven't seen anything set-up specifically for Deaf artists, so we are changing that up with this fundraiser. 

There are so many artistic events happening online which is great! We want to make sure that as Deaf people, we are also given a platform to perform, a chance to enjoy your performance in a language we understand, in ASL (American Sign Language)

For this fundraiser:

-We are seeking donations to support paying Deaf artists to show their work online. We are looking to set up a weekly broadcast highlighting Deaf performers.

-We also want to pay for Deaf performers to work interpreting for livestreamed shows.

Our first livestreamed performance will be with The Two Natashas on Friday April 10th 2020 at 8pm on www.facebook.com/DeafSpectrum

Note: There is no limit on how much we're going to fundraise. We will continue to fundraise as long as it is necessary to pay Deaf artists, to provide accessible entertainment to the Deaf Community. The cost to pay Deaf artists will be based on how much is fundraised and what is fair to split among the artists - this decision will be reached collectively.
