De Sabla Community Center

The De Sabla Community Center survived the Camp Fire and provided key emergency services during the repopulation of Magalia and the Upper Ridge. Then the January storms dislodged a large tree that fell on the roof.   We are raising funds for the De Sabla Community Center in Magalia to repair the gaping hole in the roof caused by fallen tree, bring the kitchen to code, obtain a new heater since the old one is no longer serviceable, and to do other needed repairs and upgrading. The estimate to repair the roof is $20,000. A new heater with installation is $5000 We have calculated that other repairs and remodeling will amount to $5000.  In addition to cash a contribution of trained labor would be appreciated 

Our mission at the De Sabla Community Center is to provide a local community center promoting events focusing on music, holiday crafts, holiday and other celebrations. Our Center can be rented out for very reasonable rates to host your own gatherings. Examples of events are “open mics”, monthly breakfast and dinner events, Vietnam Veterans,  craft fairs for the holiday seasons and hosting an appropriately spooky haunted house during the week of Halloween. Our Community Center is also used as a meeting hall for various aims.

Recently the Center was utilized on a number of occasions to distribute food, clothing and services to families in need after Camp Fire. 

The total size of our building at the Center is approximately 40 x 80 Feet.  The Center has a full kitchen, large hall of 3200 square feet, a reception area with bathrooms and outdoor space of approximately one acre.   Our center is a place to be used providing enrichment, cultural activities, entertainment and more for the residents of Magalia, California and the nearby localities including Paradise. 

Please help the De Sabla Community Center reach our goal in funding all the above building projects so that we can continue to provide a safe and comfortable place for our community.
