Anyone who has met our mother, Rachel Pacheco (47), can tell you that she is a kind, generous and giving person--she is always willing to help others in need. Though things have suddenly switched, and today, it is our mother, our family, who needs assistance and help.
Asking for help is not easy, but your generosity can definitely help our mom during this difficult and healing time—that is why we have set us this page for her.
On the evening of October 27, 2017, she was rushed to the hospital and went into cardiac arrest in the waiting area. Her heart stopped beating, but after immediate CPR and the use of a defibrillator, the nurses and doctors were able to revive her. She then had to undergo an invasive procedure called angioplasty, where doctors put a stent into one of her coronary arteries after determining that it was 100% blocked.
Our mother spent her first few days in ICU with a breathing tube. Throughout her 12 days in the hospital, she was also fighting an aggressive Pneumonia. Thanks to God, she is currently back home and recovering. She has a few bruises and broken ribs due to the CPR and can’t do much movement. Being an owner to a small business, a barbershop, she has not been able to go to work. The bills to her business are piling up and on top of that, she does not have medical insurance—so now our family also has an expensive medical bill. Her cardiologist charges $250 per visit for non-insured, which she has to go again to see in less than a month. As a family, we can only help so much. Our mother is our world, and we are trying to help as much as we can. Our father has been taking care of her every day –so he too has not been able to go back to work.

Cualquiera que ha conocido a nuestra madre, Rachel Pacheco (47), puede decirle que es una persona amable y generosa: siempre está dispuesta a ayudar a los necesitados. Pero las cosas han cambiado repentinamente, y hoy, es nuestra madre, nuestra familia, quien necesita ayuda.
Pedir ayuda no es fácil, pero su generosidad definitivamente puede ayudar a nuestra madre durante este momento difícil y de curación. Es por eso que le hemos puesto esta página para ella.
En la tarde del 27 de Octubre de 2017, fue llevada al hospital y tuvo un paro cardíaco en el área de espera. Su corazón dejó de latir, pero después de una RCP inmediata y el uso de un desfibrilador, los médicos pudieron revivirla. Luego tuvo que someterse a un procedimiento invasivo llamado angioplastia, donde los médicos colocaron un stent en una de sus arterias coronarias después de determinar que estaba bloqueado al 100%.
Nuestra madre pasó sus primeros días en la UCI con un tubo de respiración. A lo largo de sus 12 días en el hospital, ella también estaba luchando contra una neumonía agresiva. Gracias a Dios, ella está en casa y recuperándose. Tiene algunos moretones y costillas rotas debido a la RCP y no puede hacer mucho movimiento. Como propietaria de una pequeña empresa, una peluqueria, no ha podido ir a trabajar. Las facturas de su negocio se acumulan y, además, no tiene seguro medico. Nuestra familia también tiene una costosa factura médica. Su cardiólogo cobra $250 por visita para los que no estan asegurados. Ella tiene que volver a verlo en menos de un mes. Como familia, solo podemos ayudar tanto. Nuestra madre es nuestro mundo, y estamos tratando de ayudar tanto como podamos. Nuestro padre se ha ocupado de ella todos los días, así que él tampoco no ha podido volver a trabajar.
