Trip to Cincinnati Childrens

Logan was born in Arizona in 2007. He was born with imperforate anus. Since his birth, he has had 5 surgeries and several procedures to reconstruct and provide him an opening. We have amazing doctors and specialists here in the Valley but they are not the experts in Colorectal issues and treatments in children. Logan is in school now and we are looking to the future where he can be more independent and be able to play sports and have sleep overs, for example. These are just not possible right now as he does not have control over his body. We are at a point where we need to visit with the expert doctors and nurses at Cincinnati Childrens Colorectal Center. They have a bowel management program every month that we have been able to get into and are planning on travelling to Cincinnati in October.
Logan is well aware that he is different than the other kids at school but he is such a smart and funny boy. Since Logan was not "built" like everyone else, he has been (in the past 2 years) very succeptible to any stomach and intesinal episodes that have gone through his school or just illness in general. Logan has had spells of "stomach flu" like episodes that have put him in the hospital for dehydration and treatment and have caused us several trips to the ER and Urgent Care as well. He missed a large amount of school but still managed to get 7 As and 1 B :)
With his hospital stays, we have racked up a large amount of bills so far this year to meet our deductible that we are still paying on. Logan is covered under my medical insurance but my plan does not cover all of the costs of our trip. He will be considered outpatient during our 2 week stay in Ohio. We have the added cost of the hotel, food and our airfare from Arizona to Ohio. Also, unfortunately, my employer does not allow me to take paid family leave so I will not be paid for 1/2 of the trip.
This trip to Cincinnati is our chance to allow Logan some freedom and independence that will set the scene for his future. I can never say that would not have to go back to Cincinnati Childrens or that this is a quick and easy fix but it is necessary for his future.
The funds will be used to cover the cost of this trip - airfare, hotel, and food. Anything additional will go to his current medical bills.
