Kelli's NYC Video Premiere

This summer I wrote, produced, and edited a music video for one of my favorite singers, Alli Simpson. I entered the video into the All American High School Film Festival and I was nominated for the Alli Simpson Music Video category. 292 films were chosen to be shown in NYC in October and I am one of them. The contest was to make a music video by using one of Alli Simpson's songs. The winner gets to direct her next music video and get a shout out from Alli via Twitter. She will also post the video on her YouTube and her website.
This is a great opportunity for me to follow my dreams of working in the film industry. There will be several Art and Film colleges involved in the convention, offering classes for me to learn how to produce movies and become a Director. This is a 4 day event of Classes, Movie Premieres, and even a Red Carpet dinner all held at the Hilton in New York. This is a really big deal for me because I have Atelosteogenesis Type 3, which has limited my ability to walk and do certain things. I am 14 years old and I've had 34 surgeries. I want to prove to people that even though I'm in a wheelchair, I can still follow my dreams, and show them the view from my chair.
In my spare time, I make videos and take pictures. I like to do these things because I don't play sports or do other activities. Currently I'm taking a filming class at the high school. And I'm very excited to be in that class, filming and taking pictures around the school. Music videos are fun because they let me express my creativity. I hope to see you in Big Apple!!
