On Tuesday August 11, 2014, Jackie Yunkin was diagnosed with a condition called calciphylaxis. This is a rare condition with limited knowledge on how to properly treat it. First and foremost we are asking for Jackie's friends and family to join together in prayer for healing and prayer for the doctors to have guidance in how to offer her the best care with the limit knowledge they have.
Jackie has been a pillar in the community. She has contributed to the Pequea Valley School district helping with book fairs, being an aid in the class rooms and the lunch rooms. She has been a band and sports parent and helps to run the snack bar.
She has fought and won the battle over cancer 4 times and she continues to keep fighting. Always in good spirits she has put the needs of other first and now is a time where she is need of help from us.
To offer her the best care, her husband Barry, has taken a leave of absence from work. To help relieve the financial stress on Barry so he can properly focus on the care of Jackie we are reaching out to our friends and family to offer financial support to them. Due to the lack of income coming into the home, they have a financial need to keep gas in their car to transport her back and forth to doctors appointments as well keeping up with the daily expenses of the household.
