Jackie's Journey

Merry Christmas! Or not? We're all just trying to survive a global pandemic and a lot of us are struggling with difficult times, financial issues and trying to stay sane through lock downs and homeschooling and still manage everything else life has to offer.
For some it may be harder than others. For My best friend from  way back to grade 9 (Jackie Edwards) it is unfortunately one of the worst times.  As if things were not hard enough on her this year...

One day while doing some lifting (yup, one of the strongest women you'll ever meet) she thought she pulled a muscle in her under arm. Pain was coming and going for a little while before she decided to get it checked out.  What we thought might be something minor, turned into something life altering.

After lots of testing, Jackie has been diagnosed with breast cancer. We recently learned that the cancer has spread to some of her lymph nodes, and she also has some spots in her lungs.

There will be (and already has been) many appointments with many different Dr.s and specialists. The first step in Jackies journey to beating the shit out of this cancer will be Chemotherapy.
The Chemotherapy is starting this Monday! (Dec 21 2020)
Not the best way to spend the Christmas holidays she only found out about the cancer 2 weeks ago, and is still trying to process all of this, but hey here we go! We got this.

Jackie has been a single mother trying to make ends meet since before her diagnoses. Now more than ever she will most definitely need help around the house, help with the kids, babysitters, help with meals and groceries and rides to and from her appointments.  She will also need plenty of rest, TLC and support!!

We need to build her support system, bigger and stronger!

No one in their right mind wants to ask for financial help, I know Jackie doesn't want to reach out and directly ask anyone for help especially at Christmas AND during a pandemic,  so I am asking for her. Not just for money but for any support anyone has to offer.

She has a long road ahead of her and anything anyone can do would be greatly appreciated.  Even if you don't know her but want to send her good vibes or words of encouragement, I will be able to send/give them to her.

We understand that people are struggling during these crazy times, and not everyone can aford to make a monetary donation...any help would be greatly appreciated! from
care packages, financial assistance, gift cards, rides , contributions, even uplifting cards and letters and anything to help lift her spirit. I will be managing this account and making arrangements to bring things to her as needed, in person.  I will be putting together gift baskets as well, so if you have anything you would like to contribute, let me know and I will add them.

I'll be there through her fight as much as I physically possibly can considering all of the rules and regulations right now. And I will be communicating with her every day as usual.

Jackie is a fighter! She always has been and I know she can beat the hell out of this cancer! But she will need our help.

We will keep posting updates and we thank you in advance for anything you can do to help.  Thank you!
We appreciate all of it.

Thank you!
Thank you!

Lots of love from our families to yours!
