My name is Heather Hall. I am orignially from Portage Michigan. I am a mother of 3, a wife, and a cancer survivor. I was misdiagnosed for 2 years in Michigan, but a week after I moved to Tennessee in 2010 for work, I was diagnosed with stage 3 c ovarian cancer. For the past year, I have been making ribbon shaped suckers to raise money to send other cancer survivors to the National Women's Survivors Convention in Nashville Tennessee. I was able to scholarship 20 cancer survivors this past July. It was a great success.
Just recently I received information from my last ct scan... the cancer is back again. When I was first diagnosed in 2010 I was given a 5 year prognosis, and I feel blessed for the time I've had, but I realize now I need to start thinking about my family. My oncologist will not release me to go back to work and I have a final last wish to save some money for a down payment on a house. We have been renting ever since we came to Tennessee in 2010 and I don't want to leave the burden of a home on my husband if something happens to me. I have started a new business with Lulu - (a new jewelry company that has a survivor line) and I am hopeful that this business will allow me to work from home to help make the money needed to finally become homeowners. As I already stated, I started making ribbon suckers to provide scholarships for other survivors to attend the convention. This year I found it very rewarding to sponsor 20 people to this wonderful event, but I have a much bigger goal for next year of sponsoring at least 40 people. I know my goals seem high, but I only have two desires as my last wish. A wish for a nice home on a little bit of property for my children and husband and scholarships for as many cancer survivors I can so they can feel how I have felt since I attended the convention for the first time in 2013.
