It's like you always hear people say, "that kind of thing doesn't happen to e. It happens to other people"
Well, as of July 20th 2017, it happened to me. I was informed by a doctor (who was not even my doctor) that I was being booted from the office with no warning, no letter, no continuity of care plan for an "alledged" inconsistant drug screen (from April!!!)
That is clear neglect of care.
This new doc that I've never met, gave me less than a week supply of pain meds and sent me on my way. I just hope my next doc' (when i can get one) will not assume I'm a drug seeker.
About the drug test... because of my diabetes, my old doctor (that I really liked but lost when we had to switch to medicaid) had me take blood tests to make sure I was taking my meds properly. urine tests are inaccurate much of the time anyway, especially when you're a diabetic with diluted urine. I passed every time,
Physically speaking, I am diabetic, have chronic pain in my neck. back, both knees and possibly arthritis. Mentally, I suffer from anxiety disorder, major depression and PTSD and have already been turned down for disability twice. OH, and I can't see my psychiatrist until we get back on medicaid or come up with cash upfront to see him.
My wife also has a few health issues and needs health coverage to control her blood pressure, anxiety and depression. I feel awful enough that my wife is currently the sole breadwinner. I do odd jobs, mostly delivery, not it's not very consisant income. We can't afford her prescriptions or doctor visits either.
Financially, me and my wife are about at our wits end. we just sent in a car payment we were about to have repossesed and we now have no money for food, gas or basic necessities. Luckily, we live with family, but are unable to pitch in as much as we should.
