My sister, her partner Rory, their 8 year old twin girls Evangeline and Ivaria and their 17 month old little girl Athena were due to move to Greece next week, along with their three rescue dogs, Indie, Blackie & Franny, after they saved up to turn a 10-year dream into a reality in 2024.

They spent all of their savings and income creating the perfect home for them, their three children and their dogs.

They were completely ready to make the move, having got rid of nearly all of their belongings in the UK and used up the last bits of their food. All of their sentimental items had already been shipped to their home, leaving very little left in the UK.

The home they built was gorgeous and a real escape for them. Their twin girls are enrolled to start in the local Greek school in September, and everything was in place for them to start their new life. It was a long and winding road to get to this point, so it finally felt like it was all going to happen.

Devastatingly, two days ago, their home in the mountains got caught in the wildfires that are currently spreading across Greece. Their home and all of their belongings are gone.

There is nothing to salvage. They are now in a state of complete heartbreak, homeless in what was meant to be their Greek paradise. This has been such a shocking, tragic, and sudden disaster for their family. Inconsolable, they are now having to plan their next steps.

It is never easy to ask for help, especially for money. My sister and her partner have built the life they desire through hard work, savvy entrepreneurial instinct, and years of persistence.

They would never ask anyone for a penny, but I am now asking, for the sake of their family, to help them in any way you can.

Anything to help with the financial shortfall, journeys over there, temporary accommodation, and supplies for their children would make the difference between a tragic loss and a chance to rebuild their lives.
