Days for Girls Malawi

At the end of November, Myself, Pat and Brenna are excited to be heading over to Malawi for 2 weeks. With the help of Monique, we got into contact with Days for Girls Australia and are excited about doing something worthwhile with our time there.
DFG is an organisation that produces sustainable sanitary packs for woman and girls in need. Every month many girls miss school because they lack something so essential that a lot of us take for granted. Throughout my time in Malawi many girls in my class would miss out on school due to not having these resources and these little packs have the power to change that!
Whilst in Malawi, we will provide lessons on how to use the packs as well as basic hygiene education at the school. We are taking 60 packs over, each containing reusable absorbent liners, underwear and other feminine hygiene essentials. These packs can last up to 3 years and will also give women the tools necessary to teach others and to produce packs of their own as a source of income for their families.
DfG is a non for profit organisation although they estimate each kit will cost $15 to produce. We would love to be able to donate $900 back to DfG to cover the cost of the 60 kits so I have created a go fund me page for anyone who is interested in donating. The money will go towards the cost of making the packs and any small donation will be greatly appreciated. We would also like to write the names of donators on the packs so the girls know who they are coming from. In the scheme of things, $15 is nothing to help change a girl’s life and enrich her education.
