Dawn's Covid Recovery

Donation protected

One of our own, Dawn Simmons, was hospitalized with COVID19 in early June and to make matters worse, a stroke! She is now home and struggling with her recovery.

Struggling is putting it mildly.  She's keeping us up-to-date, best she can with her process and most days seem to bring new twists and turns, many of them cruel.  Unemployed, she has faced the loss of her health insurance and her landlady remains unpaid.

Since her first hospital-stay release she has been hospitalized several more times times in short stints resulting in severe setbacks; each stay has its own unique (Covid) circumstances and symptoms, all of them painful and alarming.  Hospital beds in parts of California are filling with Covid patients and Dawn's area is no different.

I repeat my former message:  Dawn and her family still need our help!  When this started Dawn was in the midst of a determined job hunt and is still seeking employment, often interviewing while not feeling well out of necessity.  Many don't understand this but when the wolf is at the door we do what we have to do.   She has been a mother for 21 years.  That explains so much.

Dawn has always been and remains a generous contributor to our community and a positive soul.  God bless her.

Nobody should have to go  through something like this. Money donated aids Dawn's recovery in alleviating the constant economic stress and guilt she feels not working and goes to see the family through each difficult week.

Dawn has gained back what was lost to the stroke but her strength waxes and wanes because of Covid.  More than anything she desires work as unemployment in California has turned out to be elusive (she is still pursuing it as an option!) and her landlord has grown impatient waiting to be paid. If you know of any jobs - let her know!  She is (still) looking for an IT Consultant, Process Engineer or ServiceNow Implementation job.

Her IT Portfolio is at http://dawncsimmons.com

When Dawn feels better she pushes herself to help not only herself and others.
