I'm starting this page with the support of family and friends for my sister Dawn; She was recently diagnosed with not only one, but two forms of breast cancer.  She was diagnosed at the end of October, a week before her birthday. The following week after hearing the news, she would go into surgery to remove the lump found in her breast. There was some going back and forth between doctors to see if she should just do Chemo, and see how it reacts first, but Dawn made the right choice the NIGHT before her surgery to tell the doctors," No, we will continue with removing the mass". Thank god Dawn made this decision, in removing the tumor because it uncovered the second cancer that hadn't shown up in reports.  She now will be undergoing a single mastectomy on December 19th.
Creating this page was in hopes that Dawn can go into this battle with a clear mind and focusing on working towards her recovery. Dawn has been out of work since November to recover from her first surgery. I always believe your fight is never alone.  Her husband Chris would also benefit knowing he would be able to take care of his wife and children during this recovery period. The money you would contribute goes towards the current doctor bills,  continuing doctor visits, and Chemo she will undergo after her surgery.

Dawn has always been our voice of reason. She is our oldest Sister out of Seven children. You know that comes with much responsibility.  I will speak for myself but I know my siblings will agree.  When you have a question, call Dawn; emergency call Dawn; scared to tell your parents something, call Dawn; you aren't able to speak up Dawn will use her voice. I don't know how she does it, but no matter the circumstances, if she has one second to spare it will go to you.  Our sister Paula was also diagnosed with Cancer 3 years ago and Dawn literally stopped everything to be by her side and  to ensure she was taken care of. Dawn was a part of every doctors visit and procedure.
It has always amazed me how strong and resilient Dawn is.  She takes care of not only her own family, but everyone around her. Ask anyone, friend/coworker, Dawn is the woman who will give you the shirt off her back,  and her last dollar to make sure you are taken care of.
She also had joined Plainedge Association of Girl Scouts of Nassau County and makes sure all the girls she comes in contact with grow into confident, resourceful, and powerful leaders. She has also joined our father's Sportsmans Club, where she became the Co-Chair of the Juniors club, encouraging kids to join in more outdoor activities. She is currently unable to contribute due to the circumstances, but is continuing to show her unwavering support.

All your contributions would mean the world to Dawn and her family.  I already know her first objective is to get back on her feet and work, but in this case, she needs time to recoup and be on the road to recovery, with healing being her only priority.

If you are unable to support with a money contribution, donating meals to the family will also be appreciated. Please Facebook message myself to coordinate spreading out the meals throughout the upcoming weeks.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, for taking the time to read and support my sister. Thank you Lee and Jo for being the stepping stone for this gofundme page, sometimes we need a little push in the tush to get things started :)
