Dawn Kusbel 's Fight Against Cancer

My best friend Dawn Kusbel (Perusich) was recently diagnosed in July 2018 with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer. She is 44 years old with a husband  and 2 daughters.  She is currently under the care of Hospice in her home. She has been too weak to continue treatment for now anyways. This is her second battle with cancer. She has been a Breast Cancer survivor for 8 years. Dawn currently lives in Saint John, IN with her husband Jerome, and 2 daughters Lindsay and Mackenzie. She is heavily involved with the community.   She is a member of the Lake Central Booster club.  She also was the president of the girls basketball AAU Club as well as a coach for several years.  She has helped many of the athletic programs as team mom as well.  She is  an avid Lake Central Superfan.  As a graduate of Lake Central she excelled in volleyball, basketball, and track.  Following in Dawn's footsteps were her daughter Lindsay who was an athlete at Lake Central as well, and is now attending Grand Valley State.  Her daughter Mackenzie is a current student at Lake Central, and was a member of the Varsity volleyball team. In her free time, Dawn enjoys spending time with family and friends.  She enjoys going to Cubs and Colts games, and spending time at her cabin in Michigan.  Dawn is a person who loves to be surrounded by friends and family that she loves.  She has a heart of gold, and is always there to help people whether it is family, friends, or others in the community.  She has always been the type of person to help others before herself.  As Dawn's treatment continued, costs of treatment went up as well. Any donations will be used toward medical expenses and any other expenses that may arise due to her cancer.  Any donations will be greatly appreciated.  Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. The family has been very humbled by all of the love and support everyone has shown.
