Davison's Fight For A Future

Kara and Tom Davison of country town Meeniyan in South Gippsland ,Victoria are parents to four beautiful little girls, 2 year old twins Zariella and Alaska, 4 year old Zorana and 6 year old Aymeline.

KARA IS FIGHTING FOR HER LIFE!!!!

After their wedding plans had already been cancelled due to Covid, Kara and Tom's wedding day had finally arrived on Saturday 3rd July 2021. Unfortunately, Kara was not feeling well and by the afternoon of their wedding she was unable to attend the reception. As you can imagine this was devastating for the bride and groom on their long-awaited special day.

On the Monday after the wedding, 30 year old Kara went to her local GP with her concerns. What she endured over the coming few days was a whole range of scans, tests and long 250km round trips to various hospital appointments. This led to the devastating news that Kara had a hole in her bowel which required emergency surgery to remove a large portion of it, leaving her with a Stoma Bag and bowel cancer. After a CT Scan , it was also confirmed she had cancer in her lungs and liver.

During the whirlwind of this ordeal, Tom never left Kara's side, sleeping in his car when he could not be with her. Meanwhile, the children were being cared for by Kara's parents, Tim and Joanna Smith, and Kara's siblings. After a Biopsy on her lungs, Kara was released to recover at home. Until the results come through, there is no diagnosis. In the meantime, her specialists are putting together a treatment plan for her, but it comes as a great shock as Kara does not smoke and there is no significant history of cancer in the family.

Tom is planning to take 6 months off work to care for his wife and children. This will bring added financial hardship to the family along with the upcoming medical bills that undoubtedly will arrive. If we can all help the Davison's by taking their financial burden away this will allow Tom to support his family and focus on getting Kara well and for her to continue to be the amazing mother to their four beautiful little girls and wonderful loving wife to Tom.
