David’s miracle story❤️

When the motorbike accident happened David was only 18, he recently turned 19 in November. He was always such a happy, bubbly person. He never failed to put a smile on anybody’s face. He loved his family&friends so much. On the 7th June 2019, I received a Facebook call of David’s Facebook, when I answered the call it was a police lady speaking. She explained there has been a motorbike accident with a young boy involved who is believed to be my brother. So I contact our mum to let her know, we all make our way to the hospital. When we reach the hospital, we wasn’t told very much, we was told we wouldn’t be able to see David until he comes out of theatre, but then they thought he might not pull through so they let us in to see him for a few minutes. He then goes into theatre for the bleeds on his brain, he arrived onto the Intensive Care Unit at 7:45am. He was on full life support for 8 weeks, me or my mum would ALWAYS be by his side every single day, there wouldn’t have been a moment he was on his own. We was told he would not pull through for 8 weeks and if he did he wouldn’t have any quality of life. Through out his time in the intensive care unit he also underwent another operation which was to remove his flap in his skull. The next operation he had was to remove the whole left side of his skull because there was too much pressure on his brain which was leading it to swell so it needed more room. All 3 of those operations happened within the first 2 days of the accident. David also had a fractured pelvis and thema which they wouldn’t operate on until at least 6 weeks as he wasn’t stable enough, they had to put weights on his leg to keep it straight and in one position. After the 6 weeks they tried to operate but had to stop due to pressure and then had to do another operation to finish. David then moved onto another ward in the hospital for 8 days and then transferred to Linden Lodge, still being told he wouldn’t have any quality of life. Our family was also told he wouldn’t ever be able to eat, drink, walk, communicate again, but David has proved them all wrong. He is eating and drinking, he can also point to things to communicate, thumbs up and down too after November. We are raising money to be able to get david an electric wheelchair as David’s right side of the body isn’t functioning due to the bleeds on his brain, this will benefit David a lot because he will have a lot more independence, and it will help him to keep pushing and thinking positive.
