My life has been suddenly turned upside down....... Hello, my name is Janice DuBois. I have been with the love of my life, David Ford for nearly 23 years. We were an inseperable couple by all who knew and loved us. Our love and our dreams of our future bonded us together in life.
However, according to the state of California, they do not recognize our bond. Without a legal document that can prove us to be "legally wed", the state disregards and diminishes our bond and relationship as nothing more than 2 single people living at the same address. On January 2nd, 2018, our lives have been irrevocably and forever changed when David had an apneatic episode that sent him into cardiac arrest. I tried to save him, as did the EMT's and the doctors. He fought to come back to us. We spent 15 days with all the support, love and prayers from all that knew and loved and respected David. David sadly lost that battle on January 17th.
Our promise to love each other forever will never break. David's promise to take care of us was always on his mind, and was always his intention. Now with his sudden and unexpected passing, his chance to
keep that promise to take care of us, is no longer possible.
I don't know what the future holds for me now without my dear, sweet David. I know David is watching over me now as my angel. David would be so proud and happy to know that all his neighbors, his friends, his associates and family are all rallying together in his honor to take care of and watch over me in his absence.
