David Gheen & Family

Donation protected
I will try to keep this to a minimum of words but there is so much to say and explain why I am opening this Go Fund Me Account for my sister Renee Gheen and
her family. They have 5 children Amanda, Kristin, David Jr., Dakota and (1 together whom you all know as my pride and joy) Kylie Gheen and 4 grandchildren.
My sister who I must say is my super hero took on a second job in 2008 as their budget was tough. She is still working 2 jobs and she carries the family insurance. Her husband David Gheen has had rough few years with health. After years of appling the approvable of disability came though after reaching out to an attorney in 2014.
David has early dementia caused by a head injury, clogged arteries in both legs with stents in the right, L4 and L5 damage, extreme migraines which resulted in him not being able to work as he was a Roofer and Truck driver by trade.
He has just celebrated 6 years of sobriety.
January 2015 the horrible news of Carcinoma Cancer in the neck fell upon them, he immediately stopped smoking. Throat surgery was required to remove the tonsils, part of his tongue and right inside cheek which then came bad sepsis had to be fought.
2017 brought the news of Focal Point Seizures. They continued struggling with Social Security disability just it isn t much help but does assist. 
Through all of this David has been able to do the grocery shopping, pharmacy pickups, laundry, a little yard work and some house work. This has now come to him not being able to.
We are now facing Carcinoma, Squamous and Small Cell Cancer in the neck.  Small Cell is usually in the lungs not the neck which makes this a unique
case.
He got his port put in 4/4/18. 1st round of Chemo started April 9th for 3 days straight, back 4/30 5/1 & 5/2.  Near GW Hospital in DC, each chemo treatment will last approximately 5 hours.
We do not know how many Chemo treatments will be needed yet.
We do know that between the 2nd and 3rd
treatment he will need to get the feeding tube put in as Radiation will be added to the Chemo treatment in the same building in DC and increase the trip to DC to
5 days a week however the radiation appointments are expected to be less than an hour.
If you can imagine a sore throat then multiply it by a number I cannot phantom that will be his throat pain level, getting anything down his throat is an
expectant challenge. Nutrients are very very important. We are challenged with transportation and a campanion to and from DC. The food for the feeding tube
will be an added expense of 300-350 a month in its self. David is a very carring helpful man, he will go out of his way to help anyone in any way he can.
Our family has all helped over the years but we have reached the swallowing the pride and asking for assistance.
Any donation is not to small!  However if you  would like to offer being a campanion to DC for any
treatments by driving him to and from or riding metro with him, maybe a meal for home but most importantly is your prayers I know that prayers work. Thank you so much this is all right here and right now.
