Dear Family and Friends of David Emmanuel Ruppert!
Our beloved David, Dave, David E, Uncle BIG TIME!, Dr. Ruppert, is TURNING 50 on December 23rd!
David has lived such a charitable existence serving the poor, planting trees, spending hours a week ridding Maryland of invasive species, and teaching Forest School to the next generation as a volunteer. He is always so willing to give of himself. This picture, while a bit informal, captures what we all love about him so well. This is Homey #7, a monarch we raised that didn't quite make it to full development. David helped it finally out of its chrysalis as Homey couldn't do it on his/her own. David clung to its tiny feet to help it hang in the proper position to open its wings, ever hopeful day after day...while typing with one hand that week. He also fed it sugar water multiple times a day.
To honor David's 50th, the kids and I are helping to make one of his dreams come true. David would love to have a ceiling train like this: (https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/30610472445445184/) and has been collecting some train cars for it over the years. I always said no, only when we end up in our "forever home". We are finally here! It will cost about $15/3 feet of track. We will need 100 feet of track.
And/or another option is to donate to a charity who we as a family have been moved to support World Villages for Children founded by the late Fr. Al Schwartz.
He is rarely on FB so the best way to send a bday greeting to him is a note to his email: druppert at umd.edu.
Thank you so much for your consideration!
With love,
Emily, Kateri & Isaac
