David Bruch Scholarship, Safety Reform & ICU Costs

Thank you so much to everyone for the outpouring of love and support since David's unexpected passing on October 19th. David had been critically burned over 90% of his body in a workplace fire/explosion on October 18th, and despite fighting hard in the burn unit ICU, very sadly he did not survive. We learned he went back into the fire, to try to help find someone that had not yet come out. We are shocked, devastated and in disbelief that he is no longer with us. David was an amazing human being and was a wonderful, caring and loving friend, son, brother, nephew & cousin. He touched the lives of so many people. His friends and colleagues tell us the world has lost a brilliant chemist who had a unique mind and the kindest heart. We love him and will miss him beyond words.

 

David was a free spirit who has always had a zest for life, learning and discovering new ways to do things. He wanted to make the world a better place for all. We hope to honor his memory in a meaningful way, by setting up a scholarship in his name at his college, The New College of Florida in Sarasota, FL. We also hope to drive new legislation that requires safety standards and safety training for the Hemp & Cannabis Industries, in which he was an innovator and developer, and was passionate about contributing to the growing body of knowledge in extraction and distillation research. And finally, we hope to meet his uninsured ICU/ER medical care expenses.
