David and Sonya emergency fund

My name is Stacey and this gofund me page is set up for my mother and father in law. (Sonya and David Poyser) My father in law was diagnosed with Amyloidosis on 11/23/2017. Amyloidosis is a rare and incurable disease in which proteins build up and attack organs in the body. In David's case, the disease is attacking his heart. He had a heart attack in April of 2017, and a domino effect of illness began. In June David had a long battle with pneumonia and in July had to have fluid drained from his left lung. In August he suffered another heart attack. Since that time he has been continuously retaining fluid and ended up being hospitalized for the third time, this past week (ultimately leading to a diagnosis). Due to the rarity of the disease he will need to go to Mayo Clinic where they will be able to give us more specific information about the severity of his disease and the best mode of treatment. The ultimate goal is to be able to get the Amyloidosis in remission. While there is no explanation at this time about how he developed the disease, doctors believe the proteins were released following double carpal tunnel surgery in 2016. Since his initial heart attack, working full time has been hard, and since David was self employed the repercussions  hit home hard. To make martters worse, Sonya broke her ankle on September 28th, adding additional financial strain by limiting her ability to work as well. As of now David will not be able to work and Sonya will be needing to take an unpaid leave of absence in order to be there for David and trips to Mayo Clinic.
By setting up this godund me page, we are hoping to help raise funds for their basic financial responsibilities (mortgage, utilities etc, until a more permanent solution is available) and unforeseen medical bills as medical insurance was cut due to loss of income.
My in lawswould help anyone in need and for the first time, they are the ones who need some help. They have raised my husband to be a hardworking provider for his family and as grandparents they are amazing role models to our children. We just want them to focus on what matters right now, and alleviate the financial burdens. Any amount helps, and I just put in a random amount as a staring point. I will post updates as we have them.
