Dave Miller Recovery Story
Spende geschützt
John's Story: John was inspired by a gentleman I used to see at the Tom Sawyer pool. He completed his first full Iron Man distance race at age 60 and second at 65. John always thought those to be very cool bookend ages. He completed IM Maryland in 2014, two days prior to turning 60 and hope to complete IM Arizona on November 24 two months into my 65th year. Many folks use races as fundraising tools. I am thinking this is a good way to help the Miller family in some small way and keep Dave and his journey on their minds.
Dave's Story: On July 1, 2017, Dave was out bike training for IM Louisville and had a life changing accident which left him a quadriplegic (paralyzed from the chest down). With Dave's motivation and willingness to not give up, he is now able to walk with assistance. Every day is a battle, but he continues to amaze us all. Dave has had numerous surgeries along the way in hopes to better his independence. He is an inspiration to all of us!
