It is with great sadness that we share the news that our brother, David Duncan Ridgely Bullock, passed away yesterday, May 11, 2019. David was in a car accident a week ago and endured extensive injuries. After several surgeries we learned he would not recover and was, in fact, brain dead. He was taken off of life support yesterday and passed away calmly and quietly with family by his side.
David leaves behind his two exceptional daughters, Lily, 19, and Margot, 17, and his ex-wife Leslie McNair Bullock. Over the past 3 years David's life took a turn and he left NYC and Wall Street and embarked on a new chapter in Mississippi to be closer to his girls. He took over as CEO of Leslie's gourmet cookie company, Cat Island Cookies, in an attempt to help grow her business. Tragically, his attempts were unsuccessful and we all learned very recently that he left both of his daughters as well Leslie's company in extraordinary debt with no savings of any kind for the girls or their education.
Both Lily and Margot have received partial scholarships for college. Lily attends Agnes Scott in Georgia and Margot will attend The University of Mississippi in the Fall. They each work 2 jobs to contribute to their tuitions and help pay for living expenses at home. They have outstanding GPAs and are truly talented, warm and driven young women.
We hope you will consider donating to this campaign to help get them through college and cover the various costs associated with their education such as tuition, books, travel and living expenses. They deserve a clean start to their adult lives and together we can help make a difference in their future.
The funds raised will be placed in a trust in the girls' names at BNY Mellon and overseen by the bank to ensure the monies are efficiently and effectively managed and distributed.
