Dave’s medical bills and monthly living expenses

Hi my name is Tonya and I’m starting this gofundme for my parents. As some of you might already know Dave had an accident while working. He cut his thumb almost completely off. My mom rushed him to the hospital where they transferred him to U of M with one of the top and best hand and plastic surgeons. He was in surgery for about 6 hours, where they were able to reattach his tendon, do a vein transfer from his forearm, and add some bone graft to his thumb, as he shattered the bone, and placed a pin in his thumb to hold the bones together to allow for healing.

While in the hospital they overdosed him on morphine causing memory loss for a few days. Due to the overdose they ran a lot of test and scans on him. During his CT scan they found he has Basel cell carcinoma on the top of his head along with the side of his face. This required an additional surgery to remove the cancer.

they removed a 5.5 cm by 6 cm area from the top of his head and a smaller area in the temple of his face. After a follow up appointment this past week, they told my parents that they did not get all the cancer from the top of his head and that they needed do go back in and shave some of his skull to make sure they get it all this time. Then another surgery around Christmas for a skin graft for the top of his head.

My mother has been there every step of the way making sure that he gets to all his appointments, helps him open the basic things we take for granted, and has become his wound care nurse. Do to this accident and finding his cancer, neither have been able to work and have been living off their savings. Any and all would be greatly appreciated for them.
