Dave’s 100 Day Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Way before the Reams welcomed me into their family, 6 years ago, Dave has delt with bone marrow cancer. He was first diagnosed in 2006 and in 2016 he was offically diagnosed with Myelofibrosis. Myelofibrosis is a very rare and severe bone marrow disorder that disrupts your body's normal production of blood cells. The result is extensive scarring of your body's bone marrow.
You would never know any of this though when you first meet him! Dave has always been one of the most always-on-the-go, life of the party people I have ever gotten the chance to meet. Whether its picking fresh vegetables from his garden and delivering it to his friends and neighbors around Norwalk, or visiting us in Florida and helping Justin finally hang my new shelf in the front hallway, he's always looking for his next project.
Dave recently found out that he needed to undergo a bone marrow transplant because it had become leukemia. On March 21st he received new stem cells with more treatments to follow, from an anonymous donor.
The next step is his “100 Day Journey”. Doctors appointments, more treatments, medication and traveling back and forth from the Cleveland Clinic are what the future holds for him and Linda. With every appointment, treatment and medication comes a significant cost to them that can become overwhelming. Our goal is to help offset some of those costs so they can focus on his recovery and get back to the Dave everyone knows and loves.
Any prayers, good vibes, happy memories or help with offsetting the out of pocket costs will help Dave, Linda and the rest of the family push through this Journey and make it out even stronger and healthier on the other side.
