In July my father had fallen and dislocated his knee. Since than he has not heeled yet, which has caused him to not be able to work and do his daily activities. My dad was rushed to the hospital due to chest pain on the 4th of November and was admitted due to blood clots they had found in both lungs. My father was the sole provider for our family. He will now not be able to get his knee surgery for up to six months because of the blood thinners. Which will keep him off work and cause a hardship for my family. He is self-employed so disability is not an option. Going to the long process of Social Security which will be up to a year, if we're lucky. My parents would give the shirt off their back's for any of their friends and family. Now they need help! Luckily today we found out Dave (my father) does not have a blood clot in his knee, but they are still in his lungs. . Which they currently doubled his dose of blood thinners to make the numbers go up in his system. So blood clots can pass. He is currently getting those administered with a shot in his stomach. He will need to have this medication for at least 7 days today being the second in order for him to get released. Unless our insurance approves the prescription to do in home shots.. Today the insurance rejected the medicine, its $807.00 per dose, we're in the midst of trying to go through the loop holes tomorrow to get it approved. So until this happens he will be staying under the hospitals care to keep him healthy and out of danger of having a stroke, aneurism, or any heart embolisms. This is a must medication!!
