Daughter Dragon Productions: Travel & Translation

Hello! My name is Sophie Arnstein and I am fundraising on behalf of my company, DBA Daughter Dragon Productions, which I founded for the express purpose of publicizing Vietnamese fashion designer Kim Pham's extraordinary legacy through the universal language of visual media. In a few words, Kim's story is one of resilience, passion, benevolence, and hope, colored by her devout Buddhist faith and her upbringing in a motherland that doubled as an international battlefield. Beyond securing her own survival, Kim valiantly ensured the safe passage of nearly 500 of her fellow asylum seekers in the final waves of the mass "Boat People" exodus of the latter 20th century. Today, Kim owns and operates her eponymous clothing and tailoring business, Kim's Fashion Design, in Boston's luxury Copley Place mall, where she continues to face the daily trials and tribulations so familiar to America's refugee communities. Kim dreams that her story will inspire future generations, especially young women, to realize their agency over themselves as well as their potential to change the course of society for ages to come.
