Dashain & Tihar party for Baje Bajai

Project Together is a volunteer-based group based in Rushmoor Borough. We work towards building digital literacy of Nepalese people and intending to overcome the social isolation using technology. We host regular face to face workshops in the area to teach Zoom to people. We deliver weekly online Zoom sessions on Sunday, where the younger and older generations of Nepalese people come together and create meaningful social interaction. Building intergenerational relationships benefit everyone as we all share a need to be connected to others. In our fast-paced world that often seems to isolate us, maintaining and creating new social relationships is necessary.
Our baje/ baju had an incredibly challenging time in the last two years due to COVID-19 and the government imposed the national lockdown.
Many of the elderly Nepalese people are vulnerable as their immediate family members do not reside with them in the UK. Our elderly population relies on their friends/relatives’ company to come together and celebrate during the festival seasons. Due to the lockdown last year they were not able to do celebrate Dashain and Tihar.
Now, that people can meet each other, we would like to bring the community together to celebrate this festive season, which will be an enjoyable experience for us all.
Project Together is hosting a Dashain/Tihar party on 30th October for elderly Nepalese living in the Rushmoor Borough. We aim to raise funds so that we can cover the expenses of the party
