Fundraiser to help with expense towards Darren’s recovery

On July 28, 2021 , Darren was hit by a car while riding his bicycle. He was rushed to the RWJ Trauma center with a traumatic brain injury and needed an emergency Craniectomy so he might live. He was in ICU for weeks on a ventilator in critical condition before he was transferred to JFK rehabilitation center, the same rehab center Tracy Morgan went to for his brain injury. Darren has made great progress in the last few weeks and this week he will be having the second surgery to replace the portion of his skull that was removed - Cranioplasty.

Darren’s path to recovery will be a long journey and it will require home health care that is not covered by Insurance. Unfortunately the woman that hit him had minimum auto insurance and is impoverished herself so there will not be any lawsuit to help with these costs.
