Darren and Danielle fundraiser
Donation protected
Darren and Danielle left the Angeles National Forest to evacuate from the Bobcat fire on Tuesday, September 15. Pretty much form the moment they got down the mountain they have have faced some significant challenges that they are not prepared to deal with on the heels of everything else. Right at the moment they are without transportation.
Let's show them some love in this difficult time. Heaven knows being displaced from your home is hard enough.
Darren was one of the last people I saw before the Bobcat fire erupted. He showed up unannounced. He came bearing gifts from himself and Danielle. Cat food. A huge bag of dog food. A donation that I was welcome to use any way I needed to. He brought marrow bones for the dogs, and for my mom, the particular kind of facial tissue that she likes. They don't even know my mom. It's just the kind of people that they are.
I never even had a chance to offer a public thank you before the fire started. Not that they wanted to be thanked. They weren't looking for praise. They were just being the wonderful people that they are.
Thank you for sharing some love with them in this really difficult time. We will not be able to return to our homes (fingers crossed we have homes when this is over) until the fire is contained or mostly contained. On behalf of Tigger, Winnie, Koda, Kit, Blue and myself, all fellow evacuees at the moment...thank you.
