Darlene Jones passed away during the early morning hours on March 19, after battling colon cancer for 3 1/2 years. Throughout the entire fight, again and again, Darlene surpassed the doctors' expectations.
She was the best mom. I could tell her anything and I know she wouldn't judge me. When I was going through a tough time I would tell her about it and she always knew the right words to say to make me feel better and always made me laugh. She ALWAYS called me. I remember I had class every Saturday at 9am and even though I told her all the time she would still call during that class. I always forgot to turn my phone down so when she called, my classmates would always ask, "Bo! Why does she always call?" She always wanted to talk to me, and if I didnt answer she would leave the most detailed voicemail that was at least three minutes long. She always said the funniest things. She always told me how proud of me she was, and when I have a bad day I will always remember that.
Anyone who knew her will remember her warm smile and kind heart. Our family will deeply miss her, she touched the lives of many people and was dearly loved.
