Donation protected
Friends and Family of Darcy and Sean Walsh,
This week (March 19,2018) Darcy begins her journey to defeat a rare blood disorder called Amlyoidosis. A serious life threatening blood disorder. ( link if you wish to learn more about this disorder Amyloidosis Awareness ) . They feel blessed that as they enter this battle they have a lot to be thankful for. Including tremendous support from family and friends, an
early diagnosis improving odds of success and treatment at Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota, a world leader in the treatment of Amlyoidosis
Darcy's treatment is going to consist of 4-6 months of weekly Chemotherapy treatments in Rochester, MN followed by a Stem Cell Transplant which will require a 4-5 week hospitalization at the Mayo Clinic. It is with these travel expenses that they could use some assistance. This is a marathon not a sprint, and estimates include 40-60 airline flights from Grand Rapids to Minneapolis as well as 30 nights of accomodations in Rochester during the Stem Cell treatment. Putting the estimate for travel expenses and out of pocket medical expeneses exceeding $50,000.
Support Pledge: Darcy and Sean have made it very clear. Any financial support is intended to be utilized for these medical travel expenses or unforeseen out of pocket medical expenses only. If by the generosity of friends and family or a reduction in costs there are unused funds, those sums will be donated to the Amyloidosis Support Group. Helping others as they fight their battle with this rare, life threatening disease.
If your able to assist, thank you. If not, prayers and thoughts of support just as needed and welcome.
