Dan’s Leukemia-bone marrow transplant

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Raylee. I’m Julia’s oldest sister and will be Dan’s sister officially next year. I’m hoping to raise some funds for them and if you even read their story and give it a share, I’d appreciate it more than you know.

On September 3rd Dan and my sister Julia took engagement pictures and were in the peak of excitement about their wedding that will be taking place next year. Unfortunately, the very next day September 4th, 2022 Dan went into the Emergency Room and ended up with a much longer stay than he was anticipating. He had been experiencing pretty bad side pain. Dan didn’t want to go in and thought it would eventually subside, but made the choice to go in and get checked out. From that day and still continuing now, he has gone through about 60 different blood tests, CT scan, ultrasound, a 5 day long hospital stay, speaking with gastroenterologists, oncologists, and pathologists, weekly appointments for an undetermined amount of time, and he is still awaiting complete answers about what is going on. For his privacy I will not disclose specific details of what they have found out so far, but the current results are keeping him from working for at least the next month. Julia is his full time caregiver for at least the next 2 weeks. His condition is keeping him from being able to complete daily tasks like cooking or showering on his own.

What we know so far about Dan’s diagnosis is his spleen is over twice the normal size causing him serious pain and suspected liver damage. He returned to the hospital this past Friday for even more blood tests that he is waiting for results on.

Nitty gritty:
Julia works from home as a baker for PJ’s baking. A business her and our mom started a few years ago. She also watches our nephew, Konner, during the day. She plans to pick up more baking as long as Dan’s condition improves, but obviously her #1 priority is taking care of him and making sure she’s doing all she can to keep him as comfortable as possible. Dan and Julia are also a huge part of their 2 year old nephew, Beckett’s, life and often have him at their home playing around.

With their recent engagement, this feels like a huge set back and I would really like to ask for any kind of help to take at least some of the financial stress away. Or place a baking order with Julia for the upcoming weeks.

Lastly, Dan and Julia are pretty private people, so I will share information as I am told that it’s okay. Please don’t ask any questions as you will be updated as they want people to be. If you can’t donate, a share would be very very appreciated. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers, this is a very scary time in all of our lives and we are holding out hope for good news to come along. Any money raised would be immensely helpful and appreciated by our entire family and will go towards their monthly expenses along with an unpredictable amount of hospital bills that are to come. Thank you for reading.
