Dans Fight With Pancreatic Cancer

Donation protected
Just a few weeks ago, our lives were changed forever. My fiancé’s step dad Dan received devastating news, for a year doctors told Dan that he had pancreatitis and he would feel better soon. After months of being in agony and many doctor’s visits later they finally found a doctor that would run the tests needed for the answers they searched for. But it wasn’t good answers, instead it is the most heartbreaking news. Dan has been diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer. Dan, the father, husband, grandparent, son. Dan, the caring, smart, witty, and strong man has cancer. A cancer that has no cure, only a timeframe.

It is amazing and very humbling how hearing a few words can change the lives of so many forever. Cancer is something that we all have always feared. It was something horrible that happened to other people. Never me, never someone I loved, I would think to myself when I would hear stories. But alas here we are.

Dan has helped so many throughout the years. He is constantly helping raise money and volunteering with his wife Mary in different charities, the biggest being The Hospice of the Valley, and The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. There is no stranger to this couple and whenever someone is in need they are there to help.

Dan is admirably starting chemo as soon as possible. He is being positive and very brave. Doctors are not giving us any hope of a cure rather they are just attempting to buy us more time. With all the doctors’ appointments and the pain Dan is in he is unable to continue work. Doctors and hospital bills are already piling up and I don't want them to be stressing over it the rest of the time Dan has here with us.

As Dan and Mary have both worked so hard their entire lives, it is our greatest wish that we help alleviate some of their financial burdens and to show our love and support in a time of need. Please pray for Dan and his family. Pray that he can live out the rest of his life with some quality and happiness. His family and friends are what keeps him motivated to keep fighting. Cancer has stolen many things from many people but we will not allow it to steal our hope.

All donations and shares are very much appreciated. Any messages you have for Dan we will be happy give him. Thank you in advance & God bless.
