DANIEL'S NEW YORK JAZZ TOUR

Hello, my name is Daniel Nesmith, I am a current 9th grade student at The Bolles School. A little about myself,   until a year and a half ago, I was raised by a single mother along with my two sisters. Throughout the years, there has been many battles, but even more blessings thanks to God and his people. When I was 10, my father passed away from a violent attack and murder here in Jacksonville.  With the help of God , I stayed strong because I knew he had a plan for me. Around that same time, I had been accepted into Bolles.  At Bolles,  I participated in their academic banquet, made first and second honors, and was rewarded with the jazz and Head of School award. My success at Bolles was greatly helped by God and his people. An anonymous couple helped to fund my expenses at Bolles and so I called them my Guardian Angels. Also,  the former Head of School, Mr. Milne was and still has been supportive of me throughout my Bolles’ career. I have had a passion of music ever since I was small, singing with my sisters in several churches while growing up. I am currently in the concert band at Bolles, playing the french horn. I also play the bass guitar in the jazz band at Bolles. While I do love most music, jazz is one of my favorite genres. Currently, my school is hosting a trip to New York. In New York, we will experience its blues and jazz musical history. This trip is right down my alley, but in order for me go, I need more guardian angels to help.
