Daniel's Birthday Brain Surgery :(

This is for Daniel.
Daniel has Intractable Epilepsy and has failed 10 anti-epileptic medications in 3 years.
Later this fall (November 20th - just 3 days before Daniel's 6th Birthday), he is scheduled for a rare brain surgery called Corpus Callosotomy. He is expected to spend a week in the ICU at Sick Kids Hospital and will require an extended stay in the Neurosurgery Ward with an additional 5 weeks of recovery at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation.
His mother Ashley is the primary caregiver and was required to leave her job to care for him. She is a student at York University and will graduate in the Spring of 2018. During Daniel’s recovery she will be by his side through the whole process and I can't imagine the heartache it will bring her.
Daniel will be spending his 6th Birthday and Christmas in the hospital.
The expenses associated with Daniel's treatments are frightening. The money received through fundraising will be used to ease some financial burden and the strain of caring for a child with complex medical needs. Medication, therapy and recovery is very costly and something that is needed on a regular basis for Daniel. Ashley has exhausted all other options and that is why I have decided to start this page.
Daniel's seizures are life threatening and as I know that no amount of money would be able to reverse anything, I think this is also a start to spreading the word for not only Ashley, but for all the other families dealing with similar cases.
