My name is Danielle Lee and I am a junior journalism major and writing minor at Ithaca College. When I am not diving into my next story, you can find me on my school's hip-hop team PULSE, tapping in IC Tap Club, working on-campus in the Alumni Relations department, or writing for The Odyssey Online. In my free-time, I also like to take pictures, bake, travel and spend time with family and friends.
Recently, I have been accepted to study at the University of Sydney in Sydney, Australia during the Spring 2018 semester. Although studying abroad is a great opportunity, with it comes financial planning.
I have created this gofundme page to help make my dreams become a reality. The goal of this page is to raise money for airfare and a student visa which are both needed to embark on my journey to Sydney.
Although my family and I have faced many financial hardships, I will keep striving to find a way to make my study abroad experience come true, and with your help, it is all possible.

During my freshman year, I had the opportunity to interview the Mayor of Ithaca, Svante Myrick who shared his story from homelessness to ivy league to mayor, as well as students at my school who have experienced similar situations. In my visual journalism class during sophomore year, I filmed a story on the drought in Ithaca and partnered on a feature follow-up story on the hit photo series created by Yana Mazurkevich.
This past summer, I had the wonderful opportunity to work as a Storyteller/Communications Intern at a non-profit organization called Feeding Children Everywhere where I was able to share people’s experiences with food insecurity and ways they were helping their community. I was also able to package healthy meals during hunger projects for children and families in the U.S and around the world.
(490,000 meals packaged in honor of the 49 lives taken during the Pulse nightclub shooting in 2016)
