Danielle DeSimone is one of my oldest and dearest friends, and unfortunately has recently been diagnosed with leukemia. Leukemia is a type of cancer that attacks the body’s blood forming tissues, including the bone marrow and lymphatic system. Danielle underwent a round of chemotherapy and is now recovering in the hospital. She is determined to beat this and return home as soon as she can.
People have always been drawn to Danielle’s optimistic outlook and love of life. The way she approaches life with an independent spirit truly inspires the others around her. She’s travelled around the world to places such as Ecuador, Spain, Ireland and more always documenting her journey with a picture or gopro video. She loves to adventure and often brings her beloved husky Kita along with her! She’s looking forward to continuing her travel and exploring new places.
For as long as I can remember Danielle has always been up for a challenge. From the time we were toddlers she has always been a competitor. Whether it was racing in her grandmas pool, competing halfway across the world with her volleyball team, or even solving a calculus problem she wouldn’t stop until she was successful; and she would be the best at whatever it was. Her diagnosis is just another one of these challenges; a bump in the road. In the 16 years I have known Danielle she has not once backed down, and this time isn’t any different. We’ve all witnessed her success in life and can’t wait to witness this one. Our thoughts and prayers are with Danielle and her family, and any help is very much appreciated.
