Daniel Gandara

It's hard to pick where to begin. I am writing this for my father and my mother.

Daniel Gandara, works as a Seargant for Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, father to 3 adult children, grandfather of 2 small kids. On October 18 my dad got ready for work. He had a doctor appointment that morning and was told he had brain cancer. On October 19, he under went brain surgery to remove a large lesion in his brain. One day we were all making normal day to day plans of what to do next, where to go, and places we wanted to visit. The next we were in St. Joseph's hospital learning about melanoma brain cancer. We don't know much else, tests are still being run and we are waiting further results to execute a specific treatment plan. So far we expect radiation and chemotherapy to come next. Dan has handled all of this with a tremendous amount of strength both emotionally and physically. He also has not lost his famous and wonderful sense of humor! I have no idea if this page will lead to much, but it's worth a shot.

If you've ever met my dad Dan, chances are he made a memorable impression on you. He truly is a one of a kind. My dad has walked many paths of life and along the way he made countless friendships. We aren't the type of family that asks for anything, but I have seen what my mom and dad are going through first hand and I couldn't help but think of this website and what I've heard it can do for families in hard times with medical bills and day to day living.

Please, take a moment to say a prayer for my dad. We believe strongly in God and we have fully put our trust and faith in Him.
