D and D’s Family Trip!

We are foster parents to two heart-stealing 8 year old boys. We are taking them to Disney World in May, but it would be even better if they could share this experience with their siblings. The 5 boys and 3 girls, ages 2-12 have spent their lives looking after themselves and each other, and are now living apart in 4 different foster homes. These children—many of whom have never even been to a movie theater—are more deserving of a few days to just BE KIDS than most of us can believe. They see each other 1 hour each week so to get to spend 4 carefree, silly, fun days together....it’ll be a dream they never dared to dream come true.

We are hoping to raise the funds (and/or seek donated miles) for the 5 additional park tickets and airfare.  (The 2 year old will not be joining us). The other families are not able to contribute much so we’re trying to pull this together on our own.

 Disney property is cost prohibitive this time and so we’ll be renting a condo offsite and using all
our frugal hacks to make this possible. We’re not looking to splurge on the extras. Ok, maybe ONE Mickey shaped ice cream.... Being there and being together is enough!
