Hello, my name is Dani and I have been selected for opportunity of a lifetime to internship abroad in Tokyo, Japan at Senshu Matsudo Junior High for the entirety of my fall semester, August to December of 2018.
My apartment is paid for. I get reimbursed for my plane ticket. The only problem is that I don’t have the ~$4,500 needed for daily living for a semester. I need your help raising this money.
At first, I was going to give up and reject the offer, but this is an opportunity that reaches farther into my future and I realize that I have to fight for what I need. I cannot give up before I even give myself a chance to start. This is a very real step in the direction of me becoming a Fulbright scholar.
I applied for this internship fully believing that I was going to be rejected. The application pool was large and I made the last minute decision after being asked to apply. I never thought that I would see the congratulations email, but I did. I cannot afford to let this opportunity to slip through my fingers.
