Danger Zone! Fix it and They Will Come!

The Santa Clarita Music and Dance Collaborative Inc. (SCMDC), dba Innovation Show Choir, needs your help to repair our beautiful new rehearsal space at the Westfield Valencia Town Center.

The SCMDC is the home of the Innovation Show Choir, southern California’s leading community-based youth performing ensemble.  We  serve our community by providing free performances to local civic organizations, senior centers, schools and for fundraising events.  www.innovationshowchoir.org  We also offer exercise and art programs  to kids, teens, and adults with physical and developmental disabilities from the greater Santa Clarita valley and surrounding areas. 

We are excited to announce that we have just signed a lease for a beautiful 3,500 square foot rehearsal facility at the Westfield Valencia Town Center.  However, the space is in need of some crucial repairs.  There is a 320-square foot area of flooring in the main portion of the space which is damaged and therefore dangerous for our performers, parents, and special needs participants and community.

Our original intention was to repair the damage.  However, after numerous quotes and estimates for the repair, we discovered that the necessary flooring has been discontinued.  We would have to refloor the entire 3,500 square foot space. The cost for such an undertaking is  prohibitive for us.

Knowing that our future plans included purchasing a portable stage to be erected on the exact same spot where the damaged flooring exists, we decided to go ahead and work towards acquiring the stage now.  This will serve two purposes. It will cover the damaged area and provide us with a beautiful and functional stage that we will utilize often.  However, considering the difficulties of the past year and a half, we simply do not have the funds to accomplish this.

This is where you come in!  Your tax-deductible contribution (we are a 501©(3) non profit organization) will enable us to purchase the stage and use the space in the ways in which we intended.  Our students will use the facility every day without risk of potential injury. In addition, we will be able to offer free concerts and other performances right on-site, on our beautiful new stage!

And there’s more!  Not only will you receive a tax deduction for your generosity, all donors will be invited to a special exclusive concert, which will feature our students performing on the very stage which you made possible!

Our classes begin in September, so we only have a very short time to raise this money!  We thank you in advance for your generosity and look forward to seeing you at our exclusive donors-only concert!
